$550k to Deliver New Female Changerooms for the Alex Hills Bombers Football Club

Federal Member for Bowman, Henry Pike MP, has announced a commitment of $550,000 to support the construction of new female changerooms at the Alex Hills Bombers Australian Football Club.

If elected this May, Mr Pike and a Dutton Coalition Government will deliver this important investment in the local club that will address the shortage many sporting organisations see in female facilities.

By supporting the club, Mr Pike said he hopes this announcement will encourage Redlands girls and women to get involved, stay active, and give Australian rules football a try.

‘We want all Redlanders to have the opportunity to play the sport they love,’ Mr Pike said.

‘Sadly, sometimes seemingly simple things such as changeroom facilities can create a barrier to access for aspiring athletes.’

‘As demand grows across the board at the Alex Hills Bombers, highlighted by an explosion in the popularity of women’s football, the investment in this facility from a Dutton Coalition Government is integral to the continued growth of the club, and the ability for the Bombers to cater to their enthusiastic teams.’

‘All players should have access to the same high-quality facilities.’

Mr Pike said that the changeroom upgrades would play a small but pivotal part in the continued success of the grassroots footy club.

‘The Bombers are a fantastic part of our community, and this will help them to be even better,’ Mr Pike said.

‘It’s a privilege to be able to make this commitment today. I’m asking for the community’s support so we can make this goal of better facilities and equitable treatment for all teams a reality.’

‘I look forward to seeing both boys and girls from the Alex Hills Bombers become future Brisbane Lions stars for years to come.’
