Henry Pike has invited not-for-profit community groups across the Redlands to apply for a Commonwealth Government Volunteer Grant, with expressions of interest now open.
The Federal Member for Bowman said volunteers who serve clubs and organisations deserve more support for the work they do in the local community.
“Australia has always had an amazing volunteer culture. People give of their time generously throughout the year, and are the engine that keeps our groups running,” Mr Pike said.
“In the Redlands, this is amplified. Community organisations working in our bayside put in countless hours of hard work that benefit us all.”
Grants from $1000 to $5,000 are available to volunteer-run community organisations that operate on a not-for-profit basis.
“It’s a privilege to be able to support our local groups in the work they do. I’m confident that successful applicants will greatly benefit from these Commonwealth grants,” Mr Pike said.
“These will help equip them to continue serving and supporting our Redlands community.”
Successful organisations may receive financial grants towards insurance items, volunteer needs, or event and activity support.
Those interested in applying for a Volunteer Grant can find out more information at www.henrypike.com.au/grants. Expressions of Interest must be returned no later than 5pm on Friday 17th January 2025.
Pike noted that “the Redlands thrives thanks to healthy volunteer groups. Seeing them find the support they need is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.”
“I’d encourage all grassroots community organisations to apply.”
