Community Grant Opportunities

Volunteer Grant Program 2024-25:

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations.

Volunteer Grants can be used to :

  • purchase communication or insurance items that will benefit an organisation’s volunteers
  • purchase items or services that support an organisation’s eligible volunteers
  • purchase items or services that assist in the delivery of eligible volunteer run activities

Grant Categories include:

  • Category 1: Purchase communication or insurance items that will benefit any of the community organisations volunteers, as listed in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines
  • Category 2 (A): Purchase items or services for the main purpose of supporting volunteers from community organisations, focussing on the development and wellbeing of children
  • Category 2 (B): Purchase items or services for the main purpose of supporting volunteer-run activities within community organisations focussing on the development and wellbeing of children

The appendix includes several helpful item category examples of eligible items.

Veteran Wellbeing Grants (VWG) Program 2024-25:

The Australian Government is inviting applications through a Targeted Competitive process to apply for funding under the VWG Program.

The VWG program provides funding for ex-service organisations (ESOs) or non-ESOs in a consortium with at least one ESO and be an eligible entity type to undertake projects and activities that sustain or enhance health and social wellbeing, build community capacity, potentially expand on existing projects and raise awareness of important issues faced by the veteran community.

Local Sporting Championships:

he Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.

  • Base Grant: $500
  • Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
  • Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $200
