Federal Member for Bowman, Henry Pike MP, has announced that expressions of interest are now open for the eighth round of the Commonwealth Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
The Stronger Communities Programme is an initiative started by the former Liberal and Nationals Government that provides funding to community-based organisations, including local council and state government agencies to improve local community infrastructure and services.
The program assists in delivering small capital projects to support the development of stronger, more vibrant, communities and boost local community participation. This may include small-scale infrastructure upgrades, fit-outs and equipment purchases.
Through the programme, eligible organisations can apply for grants of between $2,500 and $20,000. Projects could include the upgrade of community facilities such as community halls, sporting facilities, playgrounds, and parks. Funding can also be used to support the purchase of equipment, the installation of security measures, and other capital works projects.
Mr Pike encouraged all eligible community-based organisations to submit an EOI.
“We have so many great community organisations working to deliver results in our city and I am very keen to see a really good array of local projects put forward for consideration through this EOI process,” Mr Pike said.
“Previously this programme has provided funding to local groups such as the Russell Island Mens Shed, Redlands Netball, Capalaba Junior Rugby League and the Redlands CWA.”
Expressions of interest for the programme close at COB 14th March 2023. Interested organisations are encouraged to lodge their EOI as soon as possible.
Mr Pike said he looks forward to supporting eligible organisations to improve local community infrastructure and services through the Stronger Communities Programme.
