Pike's Patriot Push as the Redlands Celebrate Australia Day

Australia Day is just around the corner and Henry Pike MP, Member for Bowman, is once again inviting locals to join him in demonstrating that the Redland’s into Australia’s most patriotic city.

Last year, Mr Pike ran a city-wide raffle to give away 100 Australian flags and wall-mounted flagpoles to patriotic Redlanders to celebrate Australia Day. This generated unprecedented demand with over 2,500 locals entering the raffle.

This year’s Australia Day is set to be even bigger, with the bayside MP set to run an expanded competition. Two thousand sets of Australian-made car flags that can attach to any vehicle. The flags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to the Redlands community.

Mr Pike said that this year’s initiative, off the back of last year’s success, would continue to cement the Redlands’ reputation as a city proud of Australia’s values.

“Our city flies the Australian flag proudly because of the core values it represents,” he said.

“We’re a nation defined by freedom, committed to a fair go for all. Under this flag, we are one and free.”

Mr Pike said he was excited to see the community embrace the initiative and fly the flag proudly once more this January, creating an even larger sea of Australian flags.

“I was taken blown away by the response we had last year. The love for Australia is palpable in the Redlands. This year I am looking forward to even more Redlanders being part of our initiative.”
