LNP Candidate for Bowman, Henry Pike, has congratulated Redland residents for rolling up their sleeves for COVID-19 vaccinations.
New data, released this week by the Commonwealth Department of Health, has revealed that Redland City has a higher rate of COVID-19 vaccination than the Queensland average and many comparable local government areas.
“Redlanders are clearly doing their bit to ensure we reach the vaccination targets as quickly as possible,” Mr Pike said.
“The Redlands has a higher rate of vaccination than Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, Ipswich and Logan local government areas.”
“While there’s a long way to go to get to the 80% target, new clinics and appointments are being added all the time as the rollout continues to gather pace.”

Mr Pike has encouraged Redlanders to continue to come forward and receive their jabs.
“It is critical that we get as many Australians vaccinated as possible so we can quickly move through the phases of recovery and avoid further lockdowns,” Mr Pike said.
“Don’t just get the vaccination to protect yourself, get it to protect your loved ones, your community and the local Redland businesses who have worked so hard over the last 18 months to keep people employed.”
Mr Pike said that the Morrison Government was working to deliver the vaccine program as quickly as possible, while supporting Australia’s economic recovery.
“There’s now been over 21 million vaccine doses administered across the country and this is increasing by over a million every three days” Mr Pike said.
“The Morrison Government has been proactively working to bring forward our supplies including a historic deal with the UK to get an extra 4 million Pfizer doses.”
“If Redlanders keep getting vaccinated in the numbers they are, it won’t be long until lockdowns, border closures and restrictions are a thing of the past.”
