What support is available?
Disaster Recovery Payment



Disaster Recovery Allowance
A short-term support payment to assist Redlands employees and sole traders who have suffered a loss of income as a direct result of the event.
To be eligible, you must:
Work or live in the Redlands (or other declared Local Government Areas)
Have lost some, or all, of your income as a direct result of Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Have seen your income fall below the average Australian weekly income of $1,924.60
Be over the age of 16
Are an Australian resident, or meet other residence rules
Claims must be made by 8 September 2025 at the latest.
If you’re eligible, you’ll get the maximum equivalent rate of JobSeeker Payment or Youth Allowance, depending on your personal circumstances. Disaster Recovery Allowance is a taxable payment and needs to be included in your tax return.

Small Business/Organisation Support
Small businesses, primary producers, and not-for-profits can now also access concessional recovery loans, funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments, to help rebuild and recover.
